Started by bestselling author Sherman Alexie, the Indies First program on Small Business Saturday features authors working as booksellers at their favorite, local independent bookstores. Special guest authors Emily Jenkins and Teddy Wayne will be on-site to handsell some of their favorite titles and sign copies of their own work.

About the Authors:

Emily Jenkins is the author of two previous books about Hank and Inkling. She also wrote the chapter books Toys Go Out, Toy Dance Party, and Toys Go Home, plus a lot of picture books, including Lemonade in Winter, That New Animal, and Skunkdog. Teddy Wayne, the author of Kapitoil, is the winner of a 2011 Whiting Writers’ Award and a finalist for the Young Lions Fiction Award, PEN/Bingham Prize, and Dayton Literary Peace Prize. He writes regularly for The New Yorker, The New York Times, Vanity Fair, McSweeney’s, and elsewhere. He lives in New York.
