About the Author:

Fran Manushkin’s first book Baby, Come Out! was published in 1972.  Since then she has mentored adult writers in Eastern Europe through the Open Society Program of the George Soros Foundation, and taught writers and artists in  Moscow, Budapest, and Tirana, Albania.  Manushkin has also written 36 books in the Katie Woo series, and 6 Katie Woo, Star Writer books.
